This photo shoot was so fun and amazing to put together and I affectionately called my collaborators on this project my Dream Team. Last April I flew back to Washington, DC from Seattle to enlist a beautiful model, stunning dress designer and awesome makeup artist and here are the results.

The model I envisioned for this was Red. We worked together on numerous modeling projects in the past and she is an absolute joy to have in front of my lens, not to mention she’s beautiful, intelligent and hard working. At this point Red had also modeled some gowns for Sheri Autry Couture in fashion shows and that is who I wanted to reach out to for the designer and it made it easy that they both worked together before. Sheri and I talked about the possibility of working together with some of her gorgeous gowns in the past but we never managed to get our schedules in sync in the 4 years I lived in the DC area. After Sheri agreed to join us, Red and I perused photos of Sheri’s dresses to find “THE” dress. I knew what I wanted in my head and with most of my creative ideas I just “know” it when I see it. Artist brain, lol. Sheri has had her gorgeous dress designs featured in New York Fashion week and I just LOVE her style. We were so excited when we found the perfect dress for this project in Sheri’s beautiful collection. So, we had the stunning gown now I wanted her makeup to be amazing as well. Axel Vasquez and I worked together on previous model shoots when I lived on the East Coast and I’ve been a huge fan of his work ever since. In that time since we first collaborated he has opened up his Makeup Academy www.axelmakeupacademy.com and was a finalist who achieved first runner up on the Lifetime TV show American Beauty Star Season 2. Since he’s so busy jet-setting around doing celebrity makeup I was so excited that our schedules worked out while I was there and we were able to go to his studio at the Academy and get Red all dolled up. Again, I had something in my head for the makeup as well, a vision of some sort and Axel nailed it and brought it to life for me. My Dream Team was complete!

Sadly the day of the photo-shoot it rained so I had to scramble to find an indoor location because literally everyone on the team only had time that day or it wasn’t gonna happen this trip. I was a nervous wreck at the shoot since I had to improvise with the new location last minute and I had this amazing team that I didn’t want to disappoint. In the end in all worked out, sigh, and the photos were accepted by EVON Magazine www.evonmodeling.com/evonmagazine for their January 2020 Issue Two publication. Goal accomplished and the Dream Team was a success!
